Christian call is a call to be different.
“Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” (II Corinthians 6:17)
After redeeming Israelites from the bondage and slavery of Egypt, the Lord God instructed them:
“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. I am the Lord your God. So do not act like the people in Egypt, where you used to live, or like the people of Canaan, where I am taking you. You must not imitate their way of life. You must obey all my regulations and be careful to obey my decrees, for I am the Lord your God. If you obey my decrees and my regulations, you will find life through them. I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 18:2-5 Bold mine)
This is the same call (instruction) for believers today. Believers in Christ are God’s own people called unto righteousness, holiness, sanctification, and good works.
You cannot do after the practices of the land or of your own unregenerated/ungodly culture.
You must be different. You are a Heavenly citizen. You are a child of the Most High God. Don’t be like them in words, thoughts, and practices including songs and dressings (Exodus 2:17-19; Proverbs 7:10)
As you stand for the Lord, He will bless and honor you.
